The CN17 is the latest stand model of Kawai's highly regarded digital pianos and already includes many of the equipment features of the Premium models at an attractive price. The new Responsive Hammer Compact II (RHC II) keyboard has been developed to authentically reproduce the fine, natural touch of a grand piano. The keyboard is graduated with weights (like an acoustic piano, the touch of the keys in the bass is slightly heavier than in the treble) and the surface of all 88 keys is slightly matted, which allows better control over playing . As with all other keyboard mechanisms of the Kawai digital pianos, the Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard is also equipped with a 3-sensor system, whereby the strength of the touch is calculated by the movement of the hammers, giving the pianist a very natural playing feel. The RHC II keyboard action also allows experienced pianists to express their emotional playing… from the soft pianissimo to the powerful fortissimo. The CN17 reproduces the special sound of the hand-crafted and world-famous KAWAI concert grand piano. All 88 keys of this extraordinary instrument were recorded and analyzed. When playing on the new CN model, the recordings - by the Harmonic Imaging technology - are reproduced naturally. This unique process allows realizing the great dynamics of the acoustically original instrument while also serving as a source for a choice of further high-quality sounds.
