Gold ToneWayne and Robyn Rogers were active Folk musicians in the 70s when they decided to start their own musical instruments shop. Gold Tone started as Gold Tone Banjos, founded in Titusville, Florida by Wayne and Robyn in 1993. Wayne built and developed his first banjo, the original TB-100 Travel Banjo, this model was offered as a traveller model through various mail order companies. The big success came after a great review by Banjo Newsletter, which greatly increased the demand for the TB-100.Read more... |
As the company grew, Wayne's innovative ideas combined with vintage designs made dealers and their customers cry out for Gold Tone's affordable but high-quality banjos. Gold Tone's collection grew into just about all kinds of stringed instruments with frets, including four-string and five-string banjos, six-string banjos, mandolin banjos, Weissenborn and Hawaiian steel guitars, resonator guitars and mandolins with a metal and wooden body. combining/crossing string instruments such as the mandolin guitar, mandolin cello, or the banjo ukulele give Gold Tone a solitary status and identity.
Gold Tone is of course known for its fantastic banjos and resonator guitars but are also known for their special crossover models. So if you're a real full-time guitarist who doesn't understand playing mandolin or banjos but if you're looking for that little bit extra for your band or studio recording, Gold Tone gives you a lot of options. For example, guitar banjos and guitar mandolin's. If you want a lower warm sound as a mandolin player, there is a mandolin in a cello mood. Or as a ukulele player a somewhat more folk sound with the Banjo ukulele. Over the years, Gold Tone has really built up a reputation as the brand that offers instruments that really add something to a stringed instrument collection. And I'm pretty sure they have something you didn't even know you'd actually missed in your collection for years.
