SterlingErnie Ball Music Man's Journey started in Fullerton, California around 1971 with a small company called Tri-Sonix Inc. led by Forrest White and Tom Walker. After some successful and less successful projects, they asked their old friend Leo Fender to help them further behind the scenes with his designs, knowledge and experience. Fender was not happy with the current name Tri-Sonix and changed the name to Music Man. The collaboration with Ernie Ball in the early eighties eventually changed the name to Music Man by Ernie Ball. At first Music Man mainly built groundbreaking hybrid tube / transistor guitar amplifiers, but their real success started with the release of the stingray bass and later the saber and sillouhette electric guitars. Sterling by Music Man
Due to a high demand for affordable models, Sterling by Music Man was founded in 2008 as a subsidiary brand. These instruments are very similar to their American siblings, but this time produced in Indonesia with somewhat less high specifications, which keeps the costs a lot lower. In fact, a sterling version has been made of every known model.
Sub series
The Sub Series are the entry-level / starter models from Sterling by Music Man and also give the novice player the opportunity to get acquainted with the Music man experience. This series is mainly produced in China and therefore falls more into the entry level range in terms of price.
Why buy a sterling?
We at Music All In have been impressed by the price quality of these series for years. And see these models as a serious addition to the range of every bass player and guitarist. Instruments with this character, ingenious designs and lasting innovations are simply not offered by many other competitors. Visit our store and try them yourself.
