History

The first official Boss product, the CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, was released in 1976. It was the chorus and vibrato function of the Roland JC-120. That same year, Boss also came up with the GE-10 graphic equalizer, the BF-1 flanger and the DB-5 distortion. But these were all still pretty big devices. In 1977 the first line compact effect pedals as we know them now. An overdrive, a phaser, two types of equalizers and an automatic wah. In the 1980s and 1990s, there was only a few more of them.

Digital modeling.

In addition to the analog circuits of, Boss also has their Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM) technology. This system is the basis of as good as any digital products of Boss. This was first used in 1995 for the VG-8, but has only been improved since then so that you can hardly hear the difference between digital and analog amplifiers. The truck is the combination of electronic modeling, magnetic modeling, and physical modeling. That's how the super fast can handle your guitar sound. This is all reflected in the success of the Boss Katana amplifiers that make full use of this to make every kind of sound, from metal to jazz, after.

Next to the standard stompboxes

In 1988, the first Boss multi-effect processor came out, the ME-5. That was a unit with a compressor, overdrive/distortion, equalizer, chorus/flanger and digital reverb/delay. In 2000, this selection of securities was extended to the ME-50. Rotary sockets were also used to create the same feeling and ease of use as loose pedals. Everything Boss has learned over the years about, now sits in the GT series products. In addition to standard versions of pedals, Boss has started the Waza Craft label in 2015. Rein sits extra carefully selected, analog components and refined circuits.
