Buying accessories for piano and keys?

Are you planning on buying some accessories next to your piano? Then read here what you need or can have! Because as many pianists know, a piano or stage piano is one thing. However, there are still plenty of products that make the life of a keyboard player even easier and more enjoyable. The important thing to know as a keyboardist is that you always have to keep your goal in mind. Would you just play the piano quietly in your living room? Then you need considerably less than when you are a keyboardist in a symphonic metal band. In the further text below we start from a keyboard player who plays on a stage piano. A digital piano with a substructure is another situation.Read more...

What's the base?

At the base, of course, you have your piano. In many cases, a sustain pedal come. This is a pedal that makes the notes You Play Sound longer. You also have a tripodneeded to set up the piano. Depending on whether you play standing or sitting you also have a piano bank or stool need. From that position, you can start playing. You have everything you need to play the piano in peace. You can add a so-called triple pedal. This is a pedal unit with three pedals. A sustain Pedal, a damping pedal and a sostenuto pedal. The dampening pedal makes the whole thing sound a little softer. And the sostenuto pedal is a little harder to explain. As follows: the pressed keys are extended at the time of intrapping. All keys below are not affected.

Extra for practice.

If you have your piano, pedal, tripod and stool. Get to work! Open the sheet music and start playing. Preferably all day long. And then all of a sudden, you see it getting dark out there. Not because you look outside. But because you can't read the sheet music anymore. Still, of course, you want to keep playing. Then look at the possibility of a piano lamp. Or, in some cases, to desk lights. And maybe you want to learn how to be perfect in size right away. keep playing. Then a metronome is a good option to take a look.

What else can you use?

When you have everything you need to play the piano. You know enough from here. Now, however, a keyboardist is no longer a keyboardist as it used to be. In the past, a keyboardist was playing in a band with all different keyboards. Today, you won't see a keyboardist do that any time soon. There are many good stagepianosand synthesizerson the market with fantastic samples of all kinds of instruments. You can save these in the better models all in presets. This way you don't have to change the keyboard during a song. But just click on to the next patch. This will make you need a little more accessories. For example, if you play Hammond organ, you need a switch to send your leslie box. Do you play some guitar games or do you have other sounds that you feel a little more want to give in. Then a volume pedal is a must have. With these examples, but also in other sounds, it is sometimes fun to do something with external effects.

Transport and storage.

For transportation and storage you also have certain accessories. This could go either way. For transport, it uses a bag with no lining. Not necessarily the best choice if you leave with a fully loaded car for your performances. There's a lot of stuff hitting your piano, and the next thing you know, half your piano is falling apart. A lined gigbag is the minimum we recommend for a trainepiano. And to make yourself comfortable, take one with wheels. That's what you do. the long run will be a lot of fun. To store your piano, you need a whole new set of things. Leave it unused in your living / sleeping room or studio. Make sure there is one dust covergo around. Dust under the Keys is not very difficult to repair but is a labour-intensive process. Under the motto: "prevention is better than cure.”

Common terms.

  • Presets: Pre-set sounds in a stage piano or synthesizer.
  • Patch: 1 of the sounds you set.
  • Remote securities: Extra effects outside the sounds in your piano. Think of galm, delay of distortion.
  • Metronome: A device that gives clicks exactly the size so that you can keep playing tight to the size.
  • Piano lamp: A light bulb with a heavy foot that stays on your piano so you can shine on the sheet music
  • Gigbag: A thick-lined cover in which you can safely transport your instrument.
