The SR1600 has a Poplar Burl body-top, which creates an exotic chic look on the curved comfortable body of the SR. The African mahogany body delivers a warm sound with rich resonance. The Atlas-5 PC Panga Panga / Purpleheart neck provides sound clarity and superior dynamics with the Panga Panga key. The slim neck ensures superior playability thanks to the refined Premium fret edge treatment. The neck is made with KTS TITANIUM reinforcement rods, which keeps it extra stable and adds sustain. The MRS bridge is the ultimate bridge for ultimate sustain with a wide intonation range. Each individual bridge saddle is independently and securely attached to the body for maximum transmission without interference.

The Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ, EQ bypass switch and 3-way mid-frequency switch provide precise tone control (250 Hz, 450 Hz and 700 Hz). When the EQ bypass is activated, the treble tone control button acts as a passive tone control for the output of the instrument.
